Super Nintendo Seals: All official SNES seals should include
a horizontal seam on the top & bottom (the length of the box) + a
vertical seal on the back of the box that intersects with the 2 horizontal
seams. Another factor is the intersection of the seal should have a fold
in the plastic. A few other factors are relevant such as a vent hole or
type of plastic used.

seals should include a vertical seam on the left & right sides (the
length of the box) + a horizontal seal on the back of the box that intersects
with the 2 vertical seams. Another factor is the intersection of the seal
should have a fold in the plastic. A few other factors are relevant such
as a vent hole or type of plastic used.

Sega Genesis or Sega Master Seals: All official Sega Genesis
or Sega Master seals should have an open oval seal on the top side of
the box only. The seal may overlap the hang-tab if the store did not remove
the hang-tab. No seams should be on the left or right side of the box.
The bottom should include a seam as well. A few other factors are relevant
such as the type of plastic used (hard not soft as used today).
